Majority government for party promising "Real Change"

The October 19th federal election resulted in a majority government for the Liberal Party of Canada under the leadership of Justin Trudeau. As a result, Stephen Harper resigned as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.

The Liberal party's successful federal election platform was "Real Change", including promising to strengthen the middle class and make government more open and accountable. According to Justin Trudeau and his party: "It is time to shine more light on government and ensure that it remains focused on the people it is meant to serve."

On the surface, the election commitment seems tailor-made for the case of long-term corruption at the CRTC, which has involved public officials abusing the power of the state to redistribute wealth from millions of ordinary Canadians to members of an economic elite for more than two decades (www.onemedialaw.com).
